We need Lake Stewards & Inspectors

Help Wanted:

Summer jobs available for two part-time lake stewards, over 18 years old, to inspect boats and trailers at the West Lake Boat Launch. Stewards will normally work about 8 hours per day, 3-4 days per week, and be paid $9.50 per hour from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. They will be trained at Paul Smith’s College, employed by the Town of Caroga, and supervised by the Protective Association. Those interested should contact Michael Durkee at DURKEEML@hotmail.com or (518 725-7029) by May 1.

The Invasive Species Committee continues its work to keep our lakes free of the aquatic pests that have infested so many Adirondack lakes.  We greatly appreciate the personal efforts of our 2015 team and hope that all of them  will join again this season, however we always need new volunteers in order to cover the boat launch for as many hours as possible and participate in inspecting most of our lakes’ shallow waters in August.

Those wishing to become Lake Steward volunteers and work two 3-4 hour shifts during the summer at the boat launch should contact Mike Durkee (DURKEEML@hotmail.com); volunteers to participate in the lake inspection in August should contact Mark Harazin (harazm@sage.edu).

We also seek candidates for two paid steward positions.  Candidates should be at least 18 and available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  For detail about these positions contact Mike Durkee  (DURKEEML@hotmail.com)
